    Hair Loss? Here's your answer...

    Fenugreek

    • Fenugreek is used to make a paste that energizes the scalp and leads to new hair growth. Mix ½ tsp. of fenugreek powder with ¾ cup of unsweetened coconut milk and apply the paste to the scalp. Then cover the scalp with a plastic cap for 30 minutes. Later, wash the hair and scalp with a gentle shampoo. This treatment is recommended twice a week for two months.

    Egg and Olive Oil

    • Mix a raw egg with enough olive oil to cover all the hair and scalp. Apply the mixture and leave it on for about an hour before shampooing. It is recommended not to rinse with very hot water, as this could cook the egg and make it difficult to wash out.

    Olive Oil and Honey

    • For thinning hair and baldness, apply a soft paste of warm olive oil, 1 tsp. of cinnamon powder and 1 tbsp. of honey to the scalp at least 30 minutes before shampooing.

    Henna

    • Promote hair growth and soften the hair with a thick paste made with equal quantities of henna and gooseberry powder, used as a shampoo. A regular conditioner can be used after the shampoo.

    Yogurt

    • Indians believe yogurt contains all essential elements for healthy hair and not only reduces hair loss but also softens the hair. Room temperature yogurt is applied to the scalp at least 30 minutes before shampooing and washed out with regular shampoo.

      Eggs

      • Eggs are a rich source of vitamins and fatty acids. Vitamin A, E and D prevent hair loss, including thinning of hair. Vitamin A increases sebum production and prevents dandruff and thick scalp development. Vitamin D contributes to hair growth and prevents the development of split ends. Vitamin E increases hair oxygen absorption levels, adding luster and silkiness to the hair. Other B vitamins help in blood circulation levels. Fatty acids prevent formation of dandruff, flaky scalp, scalp psoriasis and keep hair soft and manageable.

    Home Remedy for Dandruff

    What Causes Dandruff?

One wonders, what are the usual dandruff causes? The skin of the scalp (and also of the whole body) is constantly renews itself by shedding the outer layer of skin cells. Most of the time this shedding is unnoticeable. But when this shedding becomes noticeable on the scalp, it is called dandruff.

Mild dandruff is caused not due to dryness of the scalp but usually is a result of too much oiliness of the skin. If you have large size flakes together with symptoms around your nose, eyebrows, ears, around your navel or genitals, it may be due to seborrheic dermatitis or seborrhea. Severe dandruff may be the result of psoriasis of the scalp. Seborrheic dermatitis may be caused by an increased number of a yeast-like organism (pityrosporum ovale) found on healthy scalp in low numbers. Dandruff can occur to anybody at any age. It should not be left untreated.

Too little oil or too much oil can result in dandruff.

Zinc and essential fatty acids (pumpkin seeds, nuts, vegetable oils) are anti dandruff and can prevent dandruff.

Try the following dandruff home treatment.

Mix 2 teaspoons of pure vinegar in 6 teaspoons water and apply it on the scalp before going to bed. Tie a towel around the head. Wash your head next morning. After shampooing, rinse again with vinegar water. Do this once a week for at least three months to treat dandruff.

Mix 1 teaspoons lemon juice with 2 teaspoons vinegar and massage on the scalp. Wash your hair with an egg shampoo.

Or Use 1-2 tablespoon of fresh lime juice mixed with 1 cup water to rinse off your hair after your regular shampoo session.

Massage the scalp with almond oil. Dip a towel in boiling water and wrap it around the hair. Repeat it thrice or four times when the towel gets cold.

Make an anti dandruff shampoo by mixing 100g each of amla (Indian goose berry), reetha, and shikakai, and boil in two liter of water until the liquid reduces to half. Use this shampoo for one month. Dandruff will vanish and your hair will become thick.

Fenugreek seeds are also useful in the removal of dandruff. Grind fenugreek (methi) seeds soaked in water overnight and grind it to a fine paste in the morning. Massage this paste on scalp and hair and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off.

Wash your hair with warm apple cider vinegar. Then cover your head with a towel or a shower cap and leave for about 30-40 minutes. Rinse with plain water. Repeat 2 times a week until your dandruff goes away.

Take some curd and massage onto your head. Leave it on for about half hour or more then wash it off. This will help to reduce the dandruff.

Take a palm full of baking soda and rub it on your wet hair. Wash it off with water. The baking soda should relieve the itching and help in reducing the problem of dandruff.

Happy trying... Hope one of the above treatment works for you...

    Ultimate Detox Recipe

    Easy Garlic-Sesame Salad
Sesame-Spinach1Toss dark green leafy vegetables in hot, garlicky oil for a cleansing yet delicious dish!
    4 servings
    1 tsp. olive oil
    1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. spinach, stemmed, or 1 lb. Swiss chard, or 1 lb. mixture of spinach and watercress
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1 tsp. sesame seeds for garnish
Warm oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and stir until lightly browned, about 45 seconds. Add greens (do in two batches if necessary) and toss until just wilted, 2 to 4 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
If you want to go a little bit further, you should keep reading since I will recommend some gentle cleanses that aren’t likely to cause any severe reactions; but with this being said, don’t underestimate their potency. They effectively work to eliminate stored toxins such as chemicals, drug residues, microbes, even toxic emotions from your cells. Be sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of pure water throughout the day to boost the cleansing process.
    1. lemonwaterBasic Daily Detox. Water with lemon. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into an eight-ounce glass of room temperature or warm water. Drink a glass each morning upon rising. For best results, wait about 20 minutes before eating or drinking anything else (including your morning coffee or tea). Repeat daily for a minimum of three weeks, but take a break after about six weeks.
    2. Another Basic Daily Detox. Water with liquid chlorophyll. Purchase a bottle of liquid chlorophyll (flavored or unflavored). Add one to two tablespoons to an eight-ounce glass of water at least once a day. Repeat daily for a minimum of three weeks, but take a break after about six weeks.
    3. Love Your Liver. Liver-Cleansing Vegetable Cocktail: In a juicer, juice two or three carrots, one large beet, one apple, and some spirulina powder. Add one glass of pure water, mix well, and enjoy.
    4. Tummy Tonics. Raw Cabbage Juice: Juice half of a raw cabbage (any type of cabbage). It’s surprisingly sweet and tastesApfel-Karotten-Feinschmeckersaft-200x300 much better than you expect it to. Ginger & Apple Juice: Juice two apples and some ginger. Add a cup of water to dilute and enjoy.
    5. Gut Wrencher. Colon Cleansing Smoothie: Lose inches from your belly and clean out your colon at the same time with this delicious smoothie. In a blender, add one cup of water, half a cup of fresh or frozen raspberries or strawberries, ½ of cup of almond milk, half a banana, one tablespoon of ground flaxseed, and 300 mg magnesium powder. For extra fiber, you can add one teaspoon of chia seeds, hemp seeds, psyllium, and/or spirulina.
    6. Urinary System Cleanse (Kidneys/Bladder). Potassium Broth: Fill a large pot with a cup of potato peelings, a cup of carrot peelings, one whole beet (chopped), a cup of onions (chopped), an entire head of garlic (peeled and roughly chopped or crushed), one or two celery stalks (chopped) and a handful of dark leafy greens. Add enough pure water to cover the vegetables and simmer on a low temperature for one to two hours. Strain and pour the broth into a pitcher, or simply dip a mug into the pot and sip on broth throughout the day. Signs that it’s working: an increased amount of urine that smells like ammonia.
    7. 1036068.largeCommon signs that toxins are being eliminated during a detox can include headaches, muscle aches, foul smelling breath, stool and urine, acne and skin breakouts, and emotional fluxes (such as irritability or bouts of crying) so make sure you don’t have a lot on your schedule while doing the detox. If these symptoms occur, don’t stop the detox. It just shows it is actually working, and the unpleasantness will soon be replaced with energy and vibrancy, leaving you feeling amazing and like a new person!

BEAUTY - Top 10 Detox Foods

    1. Leafy green vegetables. Eat them raw in a salad, throw them into a broth, steam them and mix with rice or add to an omelet, or puree them into juices. The chlorophyll in greens helps swab out environmental toxins (heavy metals, pesticides). It’s also an all-around liver protector, which your liver needs since it’s your major domo detoxifier.
    2. Lemons. Fresh lemonade made with filtered water will keep you hydrated, and its vitamiwatercressn C helps convert toxins into a water-soluble form that’s easily flushed away. (Add some pureed greens to further boost your C vitamin intake). A great detoxifying practice is sipping a mug of hot water with fresh squeezed lemon juice first thing when you wake up (see below).
    3. Watercress. This is an excellent addition to all kinds of salads, soups, and sandwiches. Those little green leaves have a diuretic effect that helps the flushing process. Plus watercress is a mineral goldmine since it is rich in iron, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium.
    4. Garlic. Add it to everything such as salads, sauces, soups, and spreads for a great taste. In addition to the heart-friendly bulb’s cardio benefits, it also activates liver enzymes (make sure to not eat it before a date; garlic breath is not sexy!) Research also indicates that garlic diminishes a process that creates cancer-causing compounds in your body. B
    5. Green tea. This antioxidant-rich drink (See our post on the amazing benefits of green tea) is one of the healthiest ways to get more antioxidants into your system. It also contains catechins, which speed up liver activity, making it ideal for detoxing.
    6. Broccoli sprouts. They pack 20 times more cancer-fighting, enzyme-stimulating activity into each bite than the actual broccoli vegetable we are more familiar with. Research suggests that eating the sprouts (they taste like radishes!) kills off H. Pylori bacteria that causes stomach irritation and ulcers.
    7. Sesame seeds. They are said to protect the liver cells from the damaging effects of alcohol and other chemicals. For a concentrated form, try tahini, the yummy sesame seed paste that goes so well with so many dishes!
    8. Cabbage. There are two main types of detoxifying enzymes in the liver, and this potent veggie helps activate both of them. It’s the largest member of the Brassica veggie family, all of which delivers colon-cancer fighting isothicyahemorrhoids-psyllium-seedsnates and vitamin C. Coleslaw, anyone?
    9. Psyllium. This plant’s bursting with soluble fiber, which absorbs toxins as well as cholesterol and helps clear them out (amazing!). Stir powdered psyllium into juice to help cleanse your colon, or have whole psyllium husk sprinkled on top your quinoa porridge for breakfast. I would recommend starting with a small amount and gradually increase your dose as your GI tract becomes used to it. It really is a great detox food, because trust me, it flushes it all out!
    10. Fruits, fruits, fruits. They’re full of almost all the good things listed above — vitamin C, fiber, nutritious fluids, and assorted antioxidants. Besides, nothing tastes better than a ripe mango, perfect pear, or fresh berries.

8 warnings symptoms and signs of cancer

    Specific Symptoms and Signs

    Sores that don’t heal
A lump in breast or other parts of the body
    Unusual bleeding
Change in bowel habits or bladder function
Recent change in a wart or mole
    Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing
    Nagging cough or hoarseness
    Unexplained weight loss of fever
As with the general symptoms and signs, the following may not indicate that cancer is present, but if you experience these, should be brought to a doctor’s attention.

    1. Sores that don’t heal

Skin cancers may bleed and resemble sores that don’t heal. A persistent sore in the mouth could be an oral cancer and should be dealt with promptly, especially in patients who smoke or drink alcohol. Sores on the penis or vagina may either be signs of infection or an early cancer, and shouldn’t be overlooked.

    2. A lump in breast or other parts of the body

Many cancers can be felt through the skin, particularly in the breast, testicle, lymph nodes and the soft tissues of the body. A lump or thickening may be an early or late sign of cancer, and should be reported to a doctor, especially if you’ve just discovered it or noticed it has grown in size. You may be feeling a lump that is an early cancer that could be treated successfully.

    3. Unusual bleeding

This can occur in early or advanced cancer. Blood in the phlegm may be a sign of lung cancer. Blood in the stool (or a dark or black stool) could be a sign of colon or rectal cancer. Cancer of the cervix or the endometrium (lining of the uterus) can cause vaginal bleeding. Blood in the urine is a sign of possible bladder or kidney cancer. A bloody discharge from the nipple may be a sign of breast cancer.

    4. Change in bowel habits or bladder function

Chronic constipation, diarrhoea or a change in the size of the stool may indicate colon cancer. Pain with urination, blood in the urine or a change in bladder function (such as more frequent or less frequent urination) can be related to bladder or prostate cancer. Any changes in bladder or bowel function should be reported to a doctor.

    5. Recent change in a wart or mole

Any change in colour or shape, loss of definite borders or an increase in size should be reported to your doctor without delay. The skin lesion may be a melanoma which, if diagnosed early, can be treated successfully.

    6. Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing

While they commonly have other causes, these symptoms may indicate cancer of the oesophagus, stomach or pharynx (throat).

    7. Nagging cough or hoarseness

A persistent cough may be a sign of lung cancer. Hoarseness can be a sign of cancer of larynx (voice box) or thyroid.

    8. Unexplained weight loss or fever

Most people with cancer will lose weight during some period of their illness. An unexplained weight loss of about 5 kg may be the first sign of cancer, particularly cancers of the pancreas, stomach, oesophagus or lung.

Fever is common with cancer, but is more often seen in advanced stages of the disease. Almost all patients with cancer will have fever at some time, particularly if the cancer or its treatment affects the immune system and reduces resistance to infection.

    STAYING PRETTY IN A HURRY

    1. HYDRATE AT NIGHT
Lather your skin with a deep moisturizer before bedtime. You'll wake up with soft skin that's a perfect canvas for quick makeup application.

    2. SET YOUR HAIR
Invest in a set of curlers. Shower at night and set your hair while it's still wet, before you go to bed. You'll wake up with a dry mane that's incredibly full. All you'll need to do in the morning is finger comb.

    3. PULL DOUBLE DUTY
Look for products that can be used in two ways. Your lip gloss might make for a nice blush. Smudge your eyeliner around your lid for a makeshift shadow. Wipe the extra facial moisturizer you have on your hands into your hair for some frizz control.

    4. OVERNIGHT APPLICATION
Try the prescription-strength antiperspirants that are applied at night. You'll cut down on the underarm swipe time in the morning. More importantly, because the antiperspirant will already be absorbed, you'll completely avoid those horrible white streaks on your black clothes.

Remove chalky white deodorant from clothing quickly by rubbing the stain with pantyhose. This will remove all the surface whiteness, and you can get out the rest of the stain in the wash by adding a little white vinegar to your laundry.

    5. GET ORGANIZED
Keep your makeup area completely organized, with high-use products within easy reach. Line up your makeup brushes in the order you use them. Put medications in a daily pill organizer. One quick organization session will prevent you from searching for that lip gloss, accidentally putting on highlighter with your navy shadow brush, or struggling with a child-safe cap.

Milk & Honey Hair Mask for Dry, Damaged Hair....

    Just Milk & Honey...
This milk and honey mask is perfect for brittle, damaged hair that tends to be thin and easily weighed down by heavy conditioners and oil treatments. Use cream if you have coarse hair, skim milk if you have fine hair.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups whole milk (use cream if you have super coarse hair or low-fat milk for fine hair)
    • 2 teaspoons honey
    • Note: If you use low-fat milk, add a teaspoon of flour to thicken this mask.

    Preparation:

Warm up milk in the microwave so it's not too hot to the touch.
Add the honey and stir until fully dissolved.
If you use low-fat milk, add a teaspoon of flour to thicken mask, otherwise it won't stay on hair.
Pour over dry hair, massaging into hair to ensure all strands are covered.
Place a shower cap over hair. Leave for 15-20 minutes. Shampoo as you normally would.

Say NO to cellulite with Body brushing..

Body brushing is an awesome way to do all of this. So how do you get it right?

TIP 1: Make sure you have a good brush. A long handle will make it easier to reach all areas of your body, while natural bristles are kinder skin. If it's your first time, start gently with a softer bristle then work your way up the firmness scale.

TIP 2: Dry body brushing needs to be done once a day on, yes, dry skin. So while you're waiting for the shower to get steamy or your face mask to work its magic, start from the soles of your feet and work upwards.

TIP 3: Direction is important. Work methodically up your body always brushing in long smooth strokes towards your heart, as this is the best way to boost your circulation.

TIP 4: Brush everything. Your feet, heels, legs, hips, bum, arms and elbows with an upwards movement. Your back, torso, shoulders and chest with downward strokes.

TIP 5: Give special attention to your bum and thighs. Brushing helps to break down the fatty deposits that cause dimpled orange peel skin, as well as smooth and even out the skin's surface. So brush, brush, brush that booty!

TIP 6: Sensitive skin should be left alone as you'll only aggravate it, while your face deserves a tailored exfoliating regime all of its own!
